1 killed, 2 wounded in gunfight outside Garfield Ridge business

A man was fatally shot and man employed by a nearby business was wounded during a gunfight Friday night in Garfield Ridge.

Two men, ages 27 and 31, approached the employee outside the business in the 7000 block of West Archer Avenue when an argument broke out and there was an exchange of gunfire about 8 p.m., Chicago police said.

The 27-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The employee, 28, has a concealed carry license, was shot in the torso. He was listed in critical condition at the same hospital, police said.

The 31-year-old was shot in the leg and was in fair condition at the same hospital, police said.

Area 1 detectives are investigating.
