One person was hurt after a gas explosion inside a travel trailer in McKinleyville Saturday morning.

Arcata Fire District crews responded to the scene in the 2000 block of Daffodil Ave. and found flames behind the single-story home, officials said in a press release.

Additional crews were brought in to assist with the fire fight and the flames were eventually extinguished. Arcata Fire crews found the trailer resident had suffered burns and smoke inhalation. The individual was taken to the hospital and their current condition is unknown.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire is likely a gas pipeline that had an explosive reaction when the resident went to the light the pilot.
