10 fall fashion staples I’m swooning over at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

A big ol’ scarf is truly the cherry on top of any fall outfit. Whether you’re wearing it by itself or layering it over a lightweight trench or leather jacket, it screams crisp air and crunchy leaves. 

This style from Madewell is the perfect mix of oversized and cozy without being too suffocating. Plus, the fringe details and extra-large plaid squares keep it neutral without being boring. 

There’s nothing better than donning a brand-new autumnal sweater as soon as the temperature hits below 50 degrees — and this simple pullover is going to be my new go-to. 

I love how the mock turtleneck is framed with slouchy shoulders and subtle bell sleeves to create a timeless, flattering silhouette. It also comes in black, tan and a light pink.

Okay, what’s fall and a Nordstrom sale without a pair of Ugg slippers? Nothing, that’s what. Ugg slippers on sale are (unfortunately) pretty hard to come by, which is why I highly suggest you pounce on this deal. 

The rich chocolate brown color easily takes you from fall to winter while the shearling keeps your tootsies warm and cozy. You can also grab them in four other colors, including a light tan and sky blue. 

A flowy autumnal dress is just as important as a flowy summer dress. I adore this tiered style’s boho-inspired print and whispy chiffon fabric — I cannot wait to wear it with a pair of black boots. 

The slight V-neck and long sleeves keep things casual, while the removable belt allows you to customize the look. The best part? It’s machine washable. 

Stan Smiths have been trendy forever — and will continue to be — because they’re the perfect casual sneaker that you can wear all day long. My pair has seen better days so I’m thrilled that this Adidas favorite is on rare sale. 

The pop of green effortlessly adds color to an outfit without ruining the whole “white kicks” look. It’s made with a leather upper and rubber sole, for a shoe that’s both comfy and stylish. 

There’s nothing more classic and timeless than a sleek pair of black booties. This simple pair, however, take the classic look and give it a trendier twist with a square toe and a slight block heel.

You can also grab them in a suede tan. No matter what color you get, they honestly go with everything. I’m definitely going to pair them with jeans and a white tee for a casual weekend lunch. 

A trench coat is the easiest, laziest way to look put together when you’re running out the door. I could be wearing a white tank top and old jeans and still feel chic as hell. 

Between the standard belt, lapels, double-breasted button closure and storm flap, this is about as classic as a classic trench can get. It also has a hood for those rainy fall days. 

I firmly believe that a fitted turtleneck is one of the most flattering pieces of clothing anyone can wear. So, when I saw this dark floral number, my heart skipped a beat (or three). The lined mesh fabric is airy and cozy, while the mock neck and long sleeves keep things basic. 

Obviously, it looks great with black jeans (modeled here), but I’m already imagining it with flowy skirts, under a dress or with a pair of flared corduroys.
