10 Travel companies offering Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

We all love a good deal, especially us travelers. Travel is expensive enough as it is, and prices only seem to be growing as the years go by. However, if you’re anything like me, that isn’t going to stop you from traveling – it’s just going to make you a savvier traveler.

Now I’m going to tell you right off the bat: for big ticket items like airline tickets and hotel gift cards, those aren’t going to show up until Cyber Monday and the now coined “Travel Tuesday” by the sheer number of flight discounts that are offered the day after Cyber Monday. At the earliest, you might see some flight deals offered on actual Black Friday, but typically not before.

Since flights are so lucrative, airlines hold off on dropping those until the last second.

But you still can grab some great travel discounts on the weeks leading up to Black Friday and Cyber Monday! Below are a few of my favorite travel necessities that running their travel deals hot and ready for the season!

Travel Supplies

As a seasoned traveler, one of my top money saving travel hacks is to stock up on all of my travel supplies on big discount days. Typically for the USA, the biggest discount times are Black Friday/Cyber Monday (of course), the week AFTER Christmas, Easter weekend, Memorial Day, Prime Day, and Labor Day.

Lock those dates into your head!

Now that you know when to shop, here are a few items I’m stocking up on this Black Friday!

Luggage

Luggage is one of the most expensive travel items you need, so you definitely don’t want to pay retail for it. My suitcase of nine years is looking a bit beat up after traveling with me to over 30 countries and 44 US states, so I’m ready to retire it and get a new one to last another decade!

Face Masks

Sure, it wasn’t an easy adjustment back in 2020, but I kid you not – I have not gotten sick ONCE since I started wearing face masks on planes (and trains, and buses, and any long-ride transportation). Aside from hospitals and having young children in grade school, one of the most common places for adults to get sick is in transit. It sucks when you come back from a trip sick, and sucks even more when you get sick ON vacation – so why not skip the germs altogether? And for a great price at that!

Portable Handheld Fan

My portable fan is still going strong, and lemme tell ya – IT IS A GODSEND!! It has traveled with me to Morocco in the dead of summer (116F/46C) and kept me from roasting alive. I’m honestly going to put this fan in my will, that’s how amazing it is – and it’s 42% off for Black Friday!

Apple AirTag

Last but certainly not least for travel supplies, it might be time for you to restock on your Apple Airtags. If you’ve never used them before, they are great to pop into your suitcases when you check luggage, so you can always know where your suitcases are in the case of a lost bag situation (it happens more often than you might think!). They can also be great for keeping in your backpack or purse in case you misplace it while sightseeing or a swift pickpocket swipes you!

Travel Credit Cards

If you travel frequently, then it is more likely than not beneficial to you to invest in a travel credit card. Now you’re a grown adult so I probably don’t need to give you reminders on how to be responsible with a credit card (not that I’d be the best example myself), but if your credit is fairly good, I did want to point your attention to two of the best travel credit cards for frequent travelers.

These cards are the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card and the American Express Platinum Card.

Both cards have a considerable annual fee, $550 USD and $695 USD respectively, but for frequent travelers the cards offer thousands of dollars worth of perks, rewards, points, insurance, and loyalty status that make the fee more than worth it.

The are currently offering large sign-on bonuses, so if you were planning on spending a pretty penny anyway this holiday season, it’s a great time to rack up bonus points with spending you were already going to do.

Lodging

Family enjoying time together in nature

Many hotels likely won’t announce their potential holiday sales until Black Friday/Cyber Monday, but if you are a fan of camping and the great outdoors, consider jumping onto the Black Friday newsletter for Postcard Cabins. Even if you don’t particularly like camping or are completely new to nature, you should still sign up because they make camping extremely comfortable and is an easy way to dip your toes in. If you click my link, you get an automatic $25 USD discount on your first stay, and then be sure to sign up for the newsletter to shop their Black Friday deals as soon as they drop!

Transportation

There’s nothing like seeing the beautiful scenery of the countryside as you travel by wheel. This Black Friday, two travel companies are offering transportation discounts! The first is Hertz, for all you roadtrippers out there. They are offering a range of percentage discounts for folks needing car rentals in the USA, Canada, and Europe. For those planning on visiting some affordable European destinations or American summer roadtrips in 2025, this is an amazing deal!

The second is ol’ reliable Amtrak. They have a lot of deals depending on what region of the US you are aiming to travel. Taking an Amtrak ride is a journey in itself, so splurge on a nice seat (or a few for the whole family) and enjoy the ride as you create new memories watching the beautiful American landscape pass by.

Group Trips

And finally, there are some amazing group tours currently running Black Friday promotions. There are so many benefits to small group tours: they plan the entire trip and you make new friends along the way. It’s a win-win!

Geared toward younger folk (18-35 year olds), EF Ultimate Break has discounts up to 35% off of their fun and diverse itineraries. Buy one for yourself to get started on your path to lifelong traveling, or buy one as a gift for a young person in your life so they can experience travel in a safe and exciting environment.

Intrepid Travel is one of the best group travel tours suitable for all ages, and their tours offer a unique cultural element so you can enjoy your vacation and also walk away learning something new about the destination and its culture.
