A $100 million sports complex is coming to Borger.

In a press release, Borger Inc. (formerly Borger Economic Development Corporation) and 828 Sports Ventures announced that “828 Sports Ventures will be building one of the largest multisport complexes in Texas in the city of Borger.”

The proposed $100 million travel sports destination will be on an estimated 100 acres.

The complex already has a name, BoomTown MultiDome Sports Complex.

According to the release the complex will support “up to 17 different sports, a family-style water park attraction, meeting spaces, on-site play and stay hotel and restaurants.”

The facility will also offer various sports education and training opportunities.

Additionally, training for regional first responders will be an important part of the BoomTown MultiDome Sports Complex.

The 828 Sports Ventures group predicts up to 1.2-1.5 million visitors to the complex at its peak performance.

Borger Mayor Karen Felker confirmed the project saying “I am thrilled to welcome 828 Sports Ventures to the Borger Community.”

Felker continued “This $100 million investment in the BoomTown MultiDome Sports Complex not only promises to enhance our community’s recreational opportunities but also positions Borger as a premier destination for sports tourism, supporting our community vision of becoming the desired destination of the Panhandle.”

The executives of 828 Sports Ventures are scheduled to speak and present details of the BoomTown MultiDome Sports Complex project at a news conference Wednesday, May 22 at 9 a.m. at the (Borger) Dome and Convention Center.
