MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — We are learning more about the investigation into a Mitchell businessman.

Court papers say a raid of Cory Cumings’ home and business not only turned up drugs, but agents allegedly found hundreds of firearms, including a machine gun.

New federal court documents detail what investigators found and confiscated from Cory Cumings’ home and business.

On December 21, ATF agents seized 147 items from his home in Plankinton and from his business, Mitchell Roofing and Siding.

Those items include 125 guns, including rifles, shotguns, pistols and a machine gun.

Agents also found eight silencers and more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

We first told you about Cumings in December, not long after the raid.

That’s when he was arrested for drug and stalking charges in Aurora County.

An affidavit in that case says investigators found 3 ounces of THC wax in his bedroom and a scale with meth residue inside a safe that only Cumings had access to.

Under federal law, authorities are able to seize firearms or ammunition of anyone who illegally uses drugs.

The stalking charge stems from an incident 9 days before the raid.
Court documents say Cumings threatened to hire a hitman to kill a woman.

Earlier this year, Cumings was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. At that time he was already out on bond for three additional DUI charges.

Cumings has a court hearing scheduled on July 11 for his cases in Aurora and Davison Counties.
