15-year-old girl killed, two others shot outside shopping mall in Southwest Houston

HOUSTON – A 15-year-old girl was killed, and two others were in the hospital after a shooting at a shopping mall parking lot in Southwest Houston.

Investigators said people in a Honda Civic and a black Trailblazer exchanged gunfire on Bellaire Boulevard and Gulfton Street at about 9 p.m. Friday.

A 15-year-old was shot and taken to the hospital where she died.

Police were trying to determine if she was involved in the incident or a bystander.

Two people in the civic were hurt, including a 19-year-old who was in critical condition and a 29-year-old who was expected to recover.

A 29-year-old was also injured but is expected to recover.

The SUV took off.

Investigators said there were at least three, possibly four shooters involved.

A description of the shooters has not been released.
