With beautiful beaches, stunning fall foliage and small town charm, New England is one of the best travel destinations in the world.

And we’ve got the hotel to prove it.

The magazine Travel + Leisure released a list of the 100 best hotels in the world, of which only 16 U.S. locations made the cut. Of those 16, four of them are in New England.

The list was based off a 2024 survey taken by over 186,000 T+L readers, with more than 700,000 votes cast across over 8,700 properties comprised of resort hotels, city hotels, inns or safari lodges.

Winnetu Oceanside Resort on Martha’s Vineyard

Winnetu Oceanside Resort was ranked 16th on the top 100 hotel list, with a reader score of 99.0.

“This family-owned property on Martha’s Vineyard gets attention for its “great location” — spanning 11 acres of private beach — outstanding family programming, and menu options at The Dunes restaurant, according to our readers,” the resort’s entry said.

It also said that it took first place on their top New England resorts list.

Candleberry Inn in Brewster

The Candleberry Inn, a cozy Brewster inn on the Cape, was ranked 30th on the list with a reader score of  98.67.

“Priding itself on “simple elegance,” the Candleberry Inn offers a comfortable stay in a historic home in the heart of Cape Cod — a quintessential New England experience,” the Candleberry’s entry said.
