18 Sports Plays of the Week – 06/25

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The 18 Sports Plays of the Week is back with more great highlights in local sports.

The 18 Sports team showcases the top plays from the past week in the Twin Tiers. This week’s top honors include an impressive play from the softball mound and 4 major moments in summer college baseball. Nicole Moffe starts off this week’s list with an inning ending play from the mound, in last Wednesday’s HGSA 18 and Up Division softball league game. In the PGCBL, Cooper Smith smacked a walk-off 2-RBI double to lead the Elmira Pioneers past Newark.

The 2nd half of this week’s list belongs to the Horseheads Hitmen. Elmira grad Jack Carozzoni and Horseheads grad Matt Procopio each smashed towering home runs against Dansville. In the same game, Procopio connected with Kyler Hickman for a thrilling play to end the inning.
