2 business burglaries under investigation in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – Cape Girardeau Police are investigating burglaries at two businesses.

The first burglary was reported at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, July 29 from a business on the 300 block of South Spanish Street.

According to police, a suspect broke into the business and stole approximately $80 in cash.

The second burglary was reported at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30 at a business on the 1700 block of Independence Street.

Responding officers said the front door of the business was damaged. The business reported that approximately $139 was taken from the cash register.

Cape Girardeau Police said no arrests have been made in either case, but investigations into both burglaries are ongoing.

The names of the businesses targeted have not been released.
