2 charged for allegedly running illegal gambling operation at Saginaw Twp. bar

SAGINAW TWP., Mich. (WNEM) – Two people have been charged for allegedly running an illegal gambling operation at a bar in Saginaw Township.

An investigation into the Red Horse Bar – located at 4780 State St. – was launched after a citizen tipped off authorities, and it was determined illegal gambling was happening there, the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) said.

The MGCB issued a cease-and-desist letter, but the owners, Chirstopher Adams and Nicholas Adams, didn’t comply, according to the MGCB.

A search warrant was executed on Wednesday, June 5, the MGCB said, adding authorities confiscated six slot style gaming machines, $2,820 in gift cards, and $5,161 of suspected gambling proceeds.

According to the MGCB, Chirstopher Adams and Nicholas Adams were arraigned on felony gambling charges on Thursday, June 6 and were released on $6,000 personal bonds.

They are due back in court for a preliminary exam on Monday, June 24 to further address the legal proceedings, the MGCB said.
