2 from Billtown tell congressman about small-business hurdles
Two Williamsport business owners were recently honored by a federal lawmaker serving this region in an event where they shined the spotlight on challenges entrepreneurs and small business owners face during President Joe Biden’s Administration.
According to a news release, Vincent and Selina Pulizzi, owners of Labels by Pulizzi, were spotlighted by U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Dallas, as they participated in the House Small Business Committee’s “Small Business Showcase” event in the Capitol Building.
“Entrepreneurs from across the country were invited to attend to highlight their businesses and share with members of Congress the direct impact burdensome rules, regulations, and taxes imposed by the administration have had on their businesses,” the news release from Meuser’s office said.
Meuser invited the couple to the event. Labels by Pulizzi was one of only 15 businesses showcased.
Family-owned since 1968, Labels by Pulizzi is a custom printing company that employs 32 people in Lycoming County.
Since opening its doors, the business has provided its clients with over a billion custom labels of all kinds, the news release said.
“Small businesses are the heart of the American economy and the foundation of our communities,” Meuser said, according to the news release. “We champion small businesses across Pennsylvania for all they do to support our local economies. The Small Business Showcase was a great opportunity to shine a light on Main Street and give them the recognition they have earned. I was happy to be joined at the showcase by the owners of Labels by Pulizzi, Vince and Selina Pulizzi, to highlight their business and share with Members of Congress the hurdles entrepreneurs face.”
“As the Chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access, advocating for pro-growth initiatives that benefit entrepreneurs is one of my top priorities,” Meuser continued. “I am committed to fighting for policies that will help our small business community thrive, while working to oppose the Biden Administration’s burdensome rules, regulations, and taxes that stifle innovation and hinder success. Small Businesses are suffering from rising inflation, increased energy costs, and onerous mandates under this Administration.”
“As third-generation owners of a label manufacturer in central Pennsylvania, we have seen the ebbs and flows of the industry and economy over the years,” the Pulizzis said, according to the news release. “We recognize the current climate in our nation and know it’s more important than ever to work together with our leaders to initiate change.”
