2024 Eastern Regional NCS to be held at Shawnee Sports Complex
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) – US Youth Soccer will be welcomed back to the region on Thursday, June 27 for the 2024 Eastern Regional NCS.
This will be the 5th year that Shawnee has been selected to co-host this event along with Barboursville Soccer Complex.
“Over the next week, 232 teams will compete to be crowned regional champions at Shawnee Sports Complex. This is by far the largest event we host at Shawnee with a total $32 million economic impact to our area. We have 16 teams in the running from West Virginia to be crowned a regional champion and we hope to see our teams compete as well as they did in Presidents Cup. We look forward to welcoming the 14 other States back to West Virginia and showing them, yet again, what’s best about our State,” said Commissioner Ben Salango.
“I am excited to welcome USYS back to Kanawha County for a second week in a row. It was great to see all the teams out and about in our communities last week. Congratulations to all those involved in making these events successful,” stated Commission President Lance Wheeler.
“It’s going to be an exciting weekend at Shawnee Sports Complex with over 10,000 people attending the Eastern Regional. Good luck to all those competing. A special good luck to Caden Salango, Commissioner Ben Salango’s son, who will be representing his team in the 18U Division,” said Commissioner Marc Slotnick.
Matches will be played at both locations with championship games being held at Shawnee Sports Complex. The US Youth Soccer Eastern Region includes 15 State Associations: Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York West, Pennsylvania West, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia.
