It’s time to judge some red-carpet looks because the 2024 Emmy Awards are taking place this Sunday, September 15, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Even though it feels like this awards show literally just aired (the postponed 2023 Emmys were held eight months ago but now we’re back to regularly scheduled programing), it’s once again time for TV’s biggest night. And we can always count of the Emmy’s red carpet to deliver glamour and great gowns … beautiful gowns. Shōgun, The Bear, and Only Murders in the Building each earned more than 20 nominations, which means we’ll be anxiously waiting Jeremy Allen White and Selena Gomez red-carpet sightings. We’re also keeping our eyes peeled for Anna Sawai, Dakota Fanning, Ayo Edebiri, Kali Reis, and everyone’s favorite father-son duo, tonight’s hosts, Eugene and Dan Levy.

Our top spot goes to queen Ayo, whose custom Bottega number is young and fresh and fun without doing too much. One Cut staffer even said this is the “best she’s ever looked” in our Slack chat!

There’s our girl! One of the most anticipated arrivals of the night did not disappoint in a formfitting black gown with an embellished halter neck. It’s simple, sophisticated, and incredibly flattering.

Who said an LBD needs to be boring? The textured fabric and sharp neckline on this dress make this look one of our best dresses. Plus, her sleek hair and smoky eye makeup add some more drama. Did we mention all the diamonds?

Greta Lee and her stylist Danielle Goldberg have brought glamor back to the red carpet the past two seasons. This Loewe look is no different. The sculptural neckline and gemstone earrings create a look that says luxury.

And here we have a master class in how to make neons look expensive. Thank you, Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

For those of us who binged Baby Reindeer in one night (hi, it’s me), this photo of Richard Gadd wearing a traditional Scottish kilt and teeny-tiny bow tie on the red carpet is very important.

Gadd’s Baby Reindeer co-star Jessica Gunning also looked great in a black velvet gown with a plunging neckline and flower-embellished shoulder pads.

Jen Aniston, you will always be famous. (And we will always appreciate seeing you walk a red carpet dripped in jewels.)

Brie Larson arrived in a custom Chanel dress, inspired by one of the French fashion house’s archival silhouettes. On the red carpet, she said it serves as a final tribute to Elizabeth Zott, her character in Lessons in Chemistry, an Emmy-nominated miniseries set in the 1950s.

Looking like the literal icon that she is, Meryl Streep arrived in an oversized pink suit, matching handbag, and tinted glasses.

More really good pink, curtsy of Hacks star Hannah Einbinder.

Saoirse Ronan’s look is understated in the best way possible. She chose a draped top and double silk A-line skirt, paired with a triple-layer diamond necklace that’s more than worthy of a red-carpet appearance.

Sarah Paulson chose a structured color-block dress with a train and white pumps; her longtime partner Holland Taylor opted for a double-breasted cream suit. The looks are wildly different but somehow they look completely in sync — further proof that this couple can do no wrong!

From the neckline and the soft drape to the feathers and the intricate beading, this Miu Miu look is Old Hollywood perfection.

The 3 Body Problems actress chose a pink sequin column gown and matching feather cape by Tamara Ralph, which she described as “upbeat and happy” during a red carpet interview with Laverne Cox. She accessorized with star-shaped David Yurman earrings as a nod to the space and extraterrestrial themes in her Emmy-nominated Netflix series.

It’s always nice to see a man take a risk on the red carpet — no more boring black suits, please! — and this one hits all the right notes. The fringe-embellished shirt is Bode at its best.

This color. This shape. This neckline. Everything about Rosalind Chao’s look is perfect.

Purnell, who stars as Lucy MacLean in the Emmy-nominated Prime Video series Fallout, looked ready for a night out at Studio 54 in a plunge chain-mail dress. Her voluminous, ’70s-inspired hair and burgundy lip complement it perfectly.
