2024 Fashion Trends New England Wants to Leave Behind
New York City is America’s mecca for fashion trends, not Boston, however New Englanders are not afraid to try some of the new fashion style, for better or worse.
Sometimes it’s for the worst.
Do You Own These 2024 Trends?
The issue with trends is you spend money to look fab, and then you toss the trend into the charitable bin to recycle up. Did anyone notice you ‘on point’ with that trend? Ugh.
Looking back to 2024, there are some fashion trends we latched onto in our forward thinking New England way, but now BuzzFeed is calling for abandoning these vogue tendencies.
Here are the top trends you can scratch your head about:
The Barrel Jean – a denim pant cut that gets big around the thighs and knees, and is slim at the ankle, looking like a barrel or balloon. Not flattering.
Fake Freckles – Did you ever wish you had freckles so badly you faked them? Me neither, but when a friend gave me a freckle stick I was so confused. Let’s not.
Eye Brows Gelled Straight Up – Eyebrow trimming and waxing is tolerable, but looking like you always have a surprised look on-purpose is just annoying.
Chunky-Soled Sneakers – They are not as easy to walk in as you think. Yes, they are sneakers, but no, they are not for recreational walking, except for maybe walking on the moon.
Beige – Neutrals are great, but so boring. Let’s get back to personal style, and what makes you feel good in your skin. Everyone looks the same if we all dress in the same trends or colors. A pop of color creates an emotion you want to burst forward.
Wow, imagine being a trend setter by using your own personal style? Maybe 2025 is the year. Happy New Year!
