2024 NASCAR season in review: Austin Cindric
Austin Cindric earned his second playoff appearance in 2024 and finished a career-high 11th in points.
Cindric, like his Team Penske teammates Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano, struggled early in the season before improving in the second half of the year.
Cindric had more than half of his top 10s for the season in the playoffs, providing some momentum for the start of the 2025 season.

Blaney runs out of fuel, sets up Cindric’s big win
Marty Snider and Parker Kligerman examine the factors that led to Ryan Blaney running out of fuel on the final lap at WWT Raceway, leading to Austin Cindric’s win, as well as Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson’s incident.
WHAT WENT RIGHT: Had four of his top 10s — more than half his total for the season — during the playoffs. That included fourth-place finishes at the Charlotte Roval and at Martinsville in the postseason. Won four stages, including two in the playoffs. Advanced to the second round of the playoffs.
WHAT WENT WRONG: Had two top 10s in the first 21 races of the season. At that point, his average finish was 21.2. He ended the season with an average finish of 19.9. Placed 25th or worse in 11 of 36 points races.
AUSTIN CINDRIC SAID: “I think the playoffs as a whole definitely provided us with a lot of great data points at a lot of racetracks going into next year. … There’s a part of me that definitely didn’t want the season to end because I feel like we were definitely on a climb with our team.”
WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2025: Team Penske has won the past three Cup titles with Joey Logano (two crowns) and Ryan Blaney (one). So Austin Cindric is with an organization that is among the best in the sport and can challenge for wins. This will be his second full season with Brian Wilson as crew chief.
