2024 Women’s College World Series: Oklahoma-Texas odds to win national title

Published

on

The top-seeded Texas Longhorns, with their unwavering determination and impressive journey, secured their spot in the 2024 Women’s College World Series final after an impressive display of dominance, setting up an exciting matchup against the defending champions, the Oklahoma Sooners. Game 1 of the WCWS final is on Wednesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET.

The Longhorns proved too much for pitcher Nijaree Canady and No. 8 Stanford, with freshman Teagan Kavan scoring the lone run in the seventh inning for a 1-0 victory that resulted in Stanford’s exit from the tournament.

The Gators won the first game 9-3, which led to a second game on Tuesday. The Gators took an early lead with two runs, but the Sooners fought back. Ultimately, the Sooners’ resilience secured a 6-5 victory over the Gators. The significance of this victory is immense as it propels Oklahoma into a best-of-three series against Texas as they attempt to make NCAA history as the only program to win four national titles in a row.
