FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – Metro Community Development, Inc. will receive $229,000 in federal funding to help develop affordable housing, revitalize neighborhoods, and create good-paying jobs in Flint.

The funding, awarded through the federal NeighborWorks America program, was announced by Congressman Dan Kildee on Monday, May 13.

NighborWorks is a nonprofit organization that was established by Congress in 1978. It partners with nearly 250 local organizations and nonprofits nationwide to move forward local solutions to community development and affordable housing challenges.

“Metro Community Development is honored to receive this generous grant from NeighborWorks America, and we are especially proud of our membership in this tremendous organization,” said Brian Glowiak, CEO of Metro Community Development.
