I think we can all agree that the best kinds of recommendations are first-person endorsements. When someone tells me to try something because they already did and love it enough to endorse said item, that’s all I need to hear. With so many different products vying for our money on the vast internet, I’m here to discuss some of of the things I’ve tried recently and loved enough to share with whoever wants to listen.
As a Who What Wear editor whose job involves a lot of online shopping, I try a lot of new things on a regular basis. With the year coming to a close, there’s no time like the present to do a little recap. Below, I’m sharing a handful of fashion and beauty finds that I can personally vouch for. Keep scrolling to find out why I can’t stop thinking about them and shop them for yourself if you’re so inclined.
Fashion
Reformation
Dulce Cashmere V-Neck Sweater
You know something is good when you buy it and end up liking it so much that you order it in another color. That’s what happened with this Reformation sweater. The cashmere is a perfect medium weight (thin cashmere is a pet peeve of mine), and the V neckline is chic. Although it’s fitted, I recommend not sizing up to get a similar fit to the model.
Madewell
Corduroy Mini Skirt
I started out wanting a brown suede skirt, but they’re notoriously difficult to clean. I feel like I’d want to clean a skirt more often than, say, a jacket, so I ordered this chocolate-brown corduroy skirt on a whim. I have zero regrets. (It’s also 40% off with the code WINTER right now.)
AGOLDE
Valen Mid Rise Vintage Straight Jeans in Essence
In need of a new pair of classic jeans, I turned to Agolde, my go-to brand for straight-leg denim. These jeans did not disappoint. They have a hint of stretch for comfort, but you can’t tell by looking at them. With a 28-inch inseam, they’re perfect for my 5’4″ frame.
MERIT x Completedworks
The Organic Gold Vermeil Studs
If you’re in the market for a pair of stunning gold earrings that are perfect for casual and special occasions alike, you must order these. A collaboration between beloved beauty brand Merit and beloved jewelry brand Completedworks, these are studs you’ll be wearing for years to come.
Free People
Pippa Packable Puffer Jacket
Another item that I have in more than one color is this Free People puffer. It’s my go-to in the fall and winter for going to and from Pilates and walking the dog. I adore the oversize fit, the fact that it comes in a million colors, and that it’s lightweight yet warm. Trust me—get it.
NAGHEDI
St. Barths Slides
I’ve slowly started to think about warm-weather trips in the new year, and these sandals (a footwear debut from the beloved bag brand Naghedi) will be going on every one with me. What makes them especially unique is that the footbed is braided in addition to the band. All in all, the quality is amazing, and they’re super comfortable.
If you’re shopping for a tee that’s not too fitted and not too oversize, not too thick and not too thin, I found your dream T-shirt. This Aritzia tee feels so expensive IRL, and I immediately wanted to order it in every color after wearing it once.
Isn’t this ridiculously pretty? It looks perfect whether dressed down with sneakers and jeans or up with an LBD. One of the things that makes it so cool is that it’s super oversize. It’s such a unique piece that you won’t find from any other brand. Thank you, Posse.
Artless Forever
The Kit Mini
There are so many black miniskirts to choose from out there, but few check all the boxes that this one does. The fabric is structured but still soft, and it doesn’t ride up when you walk. Plus, the price point is incredible. It’s quite short, so I went up a size, and it’s perfect.
STAUD
Wally Chelsea Boot Mahogany Suede
Staud’s Wally boots are iconic, so when I saw that the brand released a Chelsea-boot version, I had to have them. As you can see, they’re very sleek as opposed to rugged, and they make every outfit they’re paired with look polished. I’m not surprised that they’ve been selling out everywhere.
Almina Concept
Oversized Wool/Cash Sweater
Almina Concept sweaters are some of my favorites, and I was thrilled to see that they’re now being stocked at Nordstrom. This is the one I’ve been wearing on repeat this season. It looks so expensive and isn’t itchy in the least
PUMA
Speedcat OG Sneakers in Whisp of Pink
With the powder-pink color trend on the horizon, I ordered these pretty It sneakers as soon as they were released, as I don’t expect them to be in stock beyond January 1.
Beauty
Armani Beauty
Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadow in Cashew
Over the course of one month, I’ve purchased this in four different colors—that’s how good it is. Cashew (the shade I see most often on TikTok) is my go-to for every day. It creates the perfect eye makeup look in two seconds flat and is super easy to blend.
Gucci
Luminous Matte Beauty Blush in Soft Peach
I’ve been a cream-blush devotee for years, but this Gucci blush made me fall back in love with powder. The finish is so smooth and beautiful, and it truly stays on all day. When I saw this limited-edition color in the pan, I didn’t think it would show up on my skin, but magically, it does. It’s also worth pointing out that these blushes do not fade—I can wear them from morning to night with zero touch-ups. Get this one before it’s gone.
YSL Beauty
Candy Glow Tinted Butter Balm in Pink Sunrise
If you’re like me and prefer your lip balms to have a bit of color, place an order for this one ASAP. Not only is the packaging beautiful, but the sheer tint also looks good on everyone and stays put for hours.
Skin Pharm
Crystal Clear Clarifying Pads
A Skin Pharm location just opened where I live, and if you’re lucky enough to have one in your city, go! It’s a beyond lovely experience. The brand also sells an excellent range of skincare products. I took these clarifying pads home with me, and my skin has been noticeably brighter and clearer since I started using them a few times a week.
Rare Beauty
Liquid Touch Concealer Brush
I’ve ordered a few Rare Beauty brushes and highly recommend them—they’re great quality for the money. This concealer brush is my favorite, though. The angled shape is perfect for blending the under-eye and inner-eye areas.
Biba De Sousa
Mandelic Cleansing Gel
This may sound hyperbolic, but I’ve never found a cleanser that removes makeup as thoroughly as this one without drying out my skin. I have pretty dry skin, but it doesn’t feel tight in the least after I use this—even in the winter.
ILIA
Lip Sketch Hydrating Lipstick + Lip Liner Crayon in Genre
I don’t generally love lipstick pencils, but I’d heard the hype about this one and decided to finally give it a try. The verdict is that it did not disappoint. It’s quite creamy, so it doesn’t drag when applied, and the color range is so good. Genre is a flattering, low-key pinky brown that’s perfect for every day.
Summer Fridays
Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum
If you’re on the hunt for the perfect serum to wear under makeup year-round, look no further. It sinks right in, isn’t sticky, and moisturizes surprisingly well without feeling heavy.
Charlotte Tilbury
Hollywood Flawless Filter
I have no idea what took me so long to order this—it’s so good. I’ve been adding a bit over my foundation, and it gives my skin the prettiest glow that complements every foundation I own.
BASMA
The Foundation Stick for Hydrating, Buildable Coverage and Natural Finish
Speaking of foundation, this under-the-radar foundation stick is my new go-to for when I’m in a rush. The coverage is buildable, and it’s not too dry yet not too creamy. The shade range is also jaw-droppingly good.
Last but not least, this is another Skin Pharm product that I’ve been using every day since it entered my life. Youth Serum is the first thing I apply to my skin in the morning and at night. It layers so well with my other products and has improved my redness and dry patches drastically.
