$25 flights on Amazon: Who can buy them and how to get the deal

The holiday season is a time to see family and friends, and sometimes this entails having to travel great distances. Steep airplane tickets during this busy time can strain your wallet, especially if you are a student.

According to a survey conducted by StudentUniverse, Gen Z set aside a third of their holiday spending for travel, with 66% of those surveyed anticipating running up debt during the holidays.

To help young adults keep their travel expenses down, Amazon and discount travel agency StudentUniverse have once again formed a partnership to make flights more affordable.

StudentUniverse is an online discount travel site that offers lower prices for students and people under 30, and its collaboration with Amazon will enable young adults to purchase flight tickets for only $25.

To qualify for the deal, you must be 18 to 24 years old, and must be a member of both an Amazon Prime young adult and Student Universe.

You can sign up for a Prime young adult 6-month trial for free if you are 18 to 24 years old and a new member. The price for a young adult account is $69 a year, or half the regular Prime membership which costs $139 a year.

Signing up for StudentUniverse membership comes at no cost, and you can do so without a Prime account.

This promotion runs from Dec. 9, 2024 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET through Dec. 13, 2024, during which eligible Prime members can visit amazon.com/25flights to make a booking while supplies last. The tickets must be used between Dec. 9, 2024 and Jan. 14, 2025.

Only 1,000 tickets will be dropping each day of the deal. There will be a total of 5,000 $25 tickets available for use on all U.S. domestic flights within the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
