Pontiac Softball moved up to 3A this past year, and they’ve already made it to the State Final Four. They knocked off the Mid-Illini’s 3 Champions, Metamora/Dunlap/East Peoria in the Washington regional, then shut down the back-to-back 3A State Champions Lemont in the East Peoria Supersectional. Now they’ll take on Oak Park Fenwick in the State Semifinals on Friday morning for the chance to play in the State Championship in just their first year of 3A competition.
Today was also the Peoria Area Senior Girl’s Soccer All Star game at Metamora HS. Peoria High started football practices this week under their new Head Coach Aaron Montgomery, who previously served as a long-time assistant under former coach Tim Thornton.
