25 Sports Monday – August 5, 2024

(25News Now) – One more week to go.

Just one week until High School Fall sports get underway, which means this week is coined “Dead Week.” That means no contact between athletes and coaches, and the last time for vacations before the seasons begin. This time next week Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Boy’s Soccer, Tennis, and Swimming teams across our area will all start practices.

Peoria City’s dream of winning the National Championship came up just a little bit short in overtime on Saturday night, but the 3,000+ standing-room only crowd was just part of the reason it will be a night to remember for a long time.

Also, today was the 2nd round of the Playoffs in the Peoria Sunday Morning League with the #1 seed Pour Bros, and #3 Seed Crusen Reds moving onto the Semifinals.
