3 Moms Organics LLC
A seven-year-old business, 3 Moms Organics produces TickWise, a powerful plant-based, DEET-free, Environmental Protection Agency-compliant tick and insect repellent. With four employees, Co-owners Lisa-Jae Eggert and Kammy Wolf lead the nationally registered women-owned small business.
Despite entering the historically male dominated sector of manufacturing, the founders of 3 Moms Organics said they have found support from many along their journey from startup to full-fledged small business. According to the co-founders, being part of WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) and the WOSB (Women-Owned Small Business) Program has given them access to women entrepreneurs and mentors from all over the country who have provided invaluable insight into manufacturing as well as guidance at each new challenge along the way.
Starting and running a small business is tough; it takes hard work, ingenuity and passion. But the co-owners said they have found great camaraderie and inspiration through the strong businesswomen they have met and the women in their network, who lift them up, give them strength and make them laugh.
In 2023, the owners of 3 Moms Organics were proud to be recognized by New York State Senator Anthony Palumbo, who honored them with a Commendation Award for their efforts against tick-borne illnesses. 3 Moms Organics was also invited by Amazon and chosen by the National Retail Federation to speak to policymakers in Washington, D.C. to highlight specific challenges of small businesses. They had the opportunity to speak directly to lawmakers, including their Congressman, Nick LaLota, and the offices of Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer.
