With the cold winter weather comes new and exciting fashion and accessory trends. The fall/winter 2024 runway gave us stellar bag trends like the east-to-west bags, wristlets, and bag charms. We love seeing these styles, and they’re sure to maintain their popularity well into the new year!
Most recently, the spring/summer 2025 runway also showed us some certain styles that we’re ready to adopt ASAP. I’m talking bags with belts or pockets (you’ll see what I mean in a bit), fringe, and vanity styles. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to incorporate some of these trends into my winter bag collection too. So, without further ado, check out five of our favorite bag trends for this winter below. And while I have you, check out all of our winter fashion stories for the best fashion tips and style guides for the chilly season!
Slouchy Suede
While suede has never really been out of style, it’s having its moment this winter. The SS25 runway debuted some gorgeous slouchy suede styles, but these pieces are ideal for cold weather, too! Try the trend for yourself with a new everyday suede tote.
Belted Bags
Belts on bags were a major trend on the SS25 runway in shows like Balmain and Prada, so we’re ready to start embracing the style with our winter bags. While you’re on the hunt for a new bag, keep an eye out for this fun trend!
Fringe
The boho staples are back in a major way and that includes fringe! Effortlessly spice up your outfit with this trend.
Cosmetic Bag Purses
This handheld purse style, which resembles a cosmetic bag, was a trend we saw on the Versace SS25 runway. It’s the perfect style for going out in the winter—compact and chic!
Pocketbooks
This winter, we’re embracing utility-style bags with lots of exterior pockets. This style has been trending for a while now, and a few brands like Chloé and Acne Studios even gave us some fun pocket-style bags on the SS25 runway. Now, we can’t wait to see this trend everywhere!
