$50 Million In Leviev Jewelry Walks The Bach Mai Runway At New York Fashion Week
In a major move for a big jewelry company during New York’s fashion week, Leviev put nearly $50 million worth of jewelry on the runway Sunday night in a collaboration with Bach Mai. Bach Mai and Leviev began working together to style his runway looks just over a month ago—curating a dazzling selection of jewelry to complement his spring/summer 2025 looks. The Beaton jewelry collection, paired with 11 Bach Mai looks, pays homage to a famous couture fashion photograph taken by Cecil Beaton.
With more than 11 significant high-diamond pieces being worn, the culmination necklace of the night was a spectacular finale on a model wearing a superb Bach Mai wedding dress. The piece: a $5 million Le Bal high-diamond necklace set with 47 carats of diamonds and finished with a 32-carat pear-shaped Fancy Yellow diamond drop in the center.
In addition to the aforementioned 32-carat pear-cut Fancy Yellow Diamond on the finale look, Leviev put together a host of pieces that dazzled the audience, including emerald-cut diamond earrings weighing 32 carats and a stunning pink and colorless diamond necklace.
“One of the most exciting things about this collaboration is that where else have you seen so much glam in Fashion Week? We’re excited to partner and bring thousands of carats of diamonds to the forefront,” said Chagit Leviev, CEO of Leviev Group USA. “One piece is magnificent with pink and white diamonds and a drop-down of 20 carats. We also have one piece that is all fancy colors that we matched with an orange dress he created. It’s a really special selection of jewelry. “
According to Bach Mai, American designer born and raised in Houston and trained in Paris, the inspiration for his Invincible Summer runway show stems from a photograph taken by famed photographer Cecil Beaton years ago in the 1940’s – showcasing models in Charles James evening gowns at a society event. That photograph inspired Bach Mai to put together dramatic looks and pair them with incredible jewelry.
“To reimagine Cecil Beaton’s iconic scene of Charles James gowns, I envisioned looks that proposed a new American glamour shown on an inclusive and diverse cast of women. I needed a fine jewelry partner that reflected the pinnacle of couture craftsmanship to enhance the vision and truly bring it to life,” said Bach Mai. “Leviev was my first choice, and the brand’s Beaton-inspired high jewelry collection featured in the show perfectly captured the modern spirit I hoped to convey.”
“I am so excited to be partnering with Leviev, a house deeply steeped in diamond heritage and jewelry savoir-faire. I can think of no better match for our couture-influenced gowns than the timeless elegance of Leviev’s diamond masterpieces,” said Bach Mai.
A leading diamond procurer, distributor, and luxury fine jewelry house, the privately held Leviev was established in the mid-1970s and quickly grew from a modest Israeli and Belgian-based diamond polishing and cutting operation into an internationally known company. Headquartered in New York City, Leviev regularly works with the finest quality of diamond in all colors, cuts and shapes, paying close attention to exceptional craftmanship and design.
According to Chagit Leviev, many of the jewelry pieces showcased on the runway tonight were never-before-seen works of art indicative of the brand’s attention to detail and glamour. She says her team and Bach Mai had several meetings to go over every item they thought could work. “He had full input on what the models were going to wear. It was truly a collaborative effort. He had a vision of what he wanted for the finale piece, too, and that it should be colorful and a special stone. That’s the showstopper.”
Each of the 11 pieces of jewelry (except for the finale Le Bal piece) were named after the models who were photographed, including the Andrea, Carmen, Marlene, Elizabeth, and others.
As if the runway models in their exquisite Bach Mai couture looks and jewelry were not enough, Bach Mai had to take the show to an all-new level for the culmination of the show. Following the runway walks, certain models re-assembled on stage to reenact a look similar to that of the original Cecil Beaton photograph. That photograph represented an important era in fashion, and Bach Mai —recreating the poses on stage with the gowns and jewels in all their glory – makes the ultimate fashion week statement.
“There is a beautiful synergy between our fashion and fine jewelry. Our collaboration, and the Leviev x Bach Mai piece we co-designed, has exceeded my every expectation. This $5 million piece, which features a 32-carat fancy yellow diamond and a sinuous, pave set diamond design, showcases the feminine, extravagant forms that are evident throughout my Spring/Summer 2025 collection. I’m so excited to reveal this one-of-a-kind jewelry piece to the world as part of the show’s closing look.”
According to Bach Mai, the Spring/Summer 2025 looks were about bringing color to the forefront after a few difficult personal years, wherein black was a staple in his designs. The couture looks this seasons included pinks, red, pale blue, lime green and more.
