80 new jobs are coming to a plant that makes steel poles and other structures in Jasper.

It comes as part of a $60 million expansion for Valmont Industries, according to the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD).

This is the second such expansion for the plant in the last 3 years.

The expansion is “to increase production of vital infrastructure,” according to a TNECD release.

It says the 80 new jobs created will be “highly technical positions requiring nationally recognized certifications and entry-level positions requiring workforce development training.”

Valmont already employs 270 workers.
