COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department in collaboration with Experience Columbus announced on Tuesday the lineup of artists for this year’s CBUS Soul Fest.

The festival, which is in its third year, celebrates the city’s Black culture with live music, food and a whole lot of soul, according to organizers.

It takes place on Aug. 17 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Genoa Park on 303 W. Broad St. and is free to the public.

“Black culture has a rich history in Columbus that extends into the arts and is prominent throughout the city,” said Bernita Reese, director of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department in a press release. “CBUS Soul Fest celebrates Columbus’ Black community, which has been so important to helping shape our city.”

Headliners for this year features Kindred The Family Soul and Tony! Toni! Toné! Featuring Dwayne Wiggins. The rest of the schedule is as follows:

“We are thrilled to partner with Columbus Recreation and Parks Department for a third year and bring CBUS Soul® Fest to Downtown Columbus as part of the city’s robust summer festival lineup,” said Sarah Townes, chief marketing and innovation officer at Experience Columbus in a press release. “CBUS Soul is a collaborative initiative that launched in 2022 to amplify the rich, historic, innovative, and forward-moving Black culture that helps to fuel the vibrancy of Columbus and it’s been wonderful to watch this festival, which is a key component of the initiative, grow year after year.”
