LMPD arrests suspect in two business robberies

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro police say a violent career criminal has been arrested in the connection of two business robberies.

With assistance from Mt. Sterling police, detectives with the LMPD Robbery Unit took Tommy Jerome Hardin, 51, of Mt. Sterling, into custody June 18 in Mt. Sterling. He is being held in the Montgomery County Regional Jail.

LMPD says Hardin robbed two Louisville businesses on June 10 – House of Gelish Nails and Bearnos Pizza. According to LMPD, when detectives served search warrants in Montgomery and Bath counties, they found evidence trying Hardin to both robberies.

In 2003, LMPD says Hardin committed 33 business robberies in the Louisville Metro area in. He was convicted in 2005 and served 20 years of a 40-year sentence before being paroled in 2022. Hardin also has past robbery convictions in five Kentucky counties.
