4 Arizona football players named Athlon Sports preseason All-Americans
Another college football outlet has put out its preseason All-American teams, and a quartet of Wildcats made the cut.
Wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was named to Athlon Sports’ 1st Team All-America squad, while cornerback Tacario Davis got a 3rd Team spot and both linebacker Jacob Manu and offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea made the 4th Team.
It’s the second preseason All-America nod for Davis, Manu and McMillan, who each got one previously from Phil Steele Magazine. McMillan was also a 1st Team choice from that outlet, while Davis and Manu were on the 3rd Team.
Those four UA players are among five Wildcats on Athlon’s preseason 1st Team All-Big 12 squad, along with kicker Tyler Loop. Overall there are 12 Arizona players on the preseason team, with four on the 3rd Team (QB Noah Fifita, OL Josh Baker, DE Tre Smith and DB Treydan Stukes) and three on the 4th Team (RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt, OL Wendell Moe and DB Gunner Maldonado).
