Locks

MLB (0.75 Unit) Minnesota Twins/Oakland A’s Over 8 (-110; Odds via Fanduel): 8:40 PM CT on Bally Sports North

It’s tough to score runs in Oakland Coliseum this time of year, but this matchup is more than capable of clearing this low number. It’s the starting pitchers for me, which is a matchup we just saw over the weekend in an 8-7 Twins victory.

Neither Chris Paddack or Joey Estes made it out of the third inning that day, as both have a tendency to throw meatballs that end up on the other side of the fence. That’s tougher to do in Oakland, but the wind is blowing out so there’s the potential for some easy runs. With the Twins bullpen overworked and the lineup hitting extremely well though, I think the recipe is there to get over this number no matter what.

WNBA (0.5 Unit) Indiana Fever -2.5 @ Atlanta Dream (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:30 PM CT on ION

It’s taken some time, and some drama, but the Fever are finally improving. With three straight wins and the only losses in their past seven coming against the league’s best, this team is showing they can beat opponents at or below their level. That’s what I’d consider Atlanta to be without Rhyne Howard, who will miss this game with an ankle injury.

That will make it tough for them to keep up with a Fever team that’s getting contributions in all facets of the game from Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. Last week Indiana beat the fully healthy Dream, and I think they can take care of business against the weaker version tonight.

WNBA (0.75 Unit) Connecticut Sun Team Total Over 79.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:00 PM CT on ION

This Las Vegas team really can’t stop anything, and I think that opens the door for a big night out of the Sun tonight. With the Sun owning a strong defense, the total for this game gets held down somewhat, which only serves to hold Connecticut’s team total below what is a reasonable number against the Aces.

Vegas is now allowing 85.5 PPG on the season, and that has ballooned to 93.6 in this 5-game stretch where every opponent has cleared this team total. Connecticut has dialed up the offense that past couple weeks and have the firepower to compete with the high-powered Aces offense. So this is another Aces game where regardless of the outcome, I see their opponent getting either pushed or pulled over the team total.
