What time is the College World Series today? Schedule, score for CWS Game 2 of championship series

A long, occasionally winding college baseball season that began in mid-February could end Sunday with a champion being crowned.

Tennessee and Texas A&M will meet for the second game of their championship series in the 2024 College World Series bracket at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Following a 9-5 victory Saturday night, the Aggies would clinch the best-of-three series and their first NCAA baseball championship with a victory Sunday.

Tennessee fought from behind from the outset, as Texas A&M leadoff hitter Gavin Grahovac homered in the top of the first for the Aggies. Jim Schlossnagle’s team never trailed again after adding an insurance run in the first, five runs in the third and another two runs in the seventh. Tennessee was only outhit 13-12, but the Vols could never muster more than flashes in the defeat.

Entering the championship round, the No. 1 nationally seeded Vols and No. 3 Aggies had largely cruised on their way to the biggest stage in the sport, combining to go 16-1 during the 2024 NCAA Tournament (Tennessee suffered the lone loss, a 10-8 setback to Evansville in the Knoxville Super Regional).

Regardless of who ultimately wins the series, this year’s CWS and the NCAA tournament as a whole have been yet another data point in the larger story of SEC baseball dominance. This year marks the sixth time two SEC teams have met for the CWS title, and whoever emerges victorious between Tennessee and Texas A&M will be the conference’s fifth-consecutive national champion in the sport.
