Rumor: Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases Fourth World

A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is teasing the main gimmick and potential theming of the game’s fourth main world, expected to arrive early next year. The universe of the popular sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse has already given fans plenty of unique locales to explore across its three major worlds, from the busy shipping districts of the Xianzhou Luofu to the dream-like Penacony. Much like its predecessor in Genshin Impact, Star Rail is expected to introduce a new world with each new numbered cycle. Now, the next world for the game is being teased.

While not much is known about what Honkai: Star Rail‘s newest world will introduce, the RPG has teased several different worlds throughout the universe. HoYoverse has teased plenty of future worlds through the game’s pre-existing characters, including Silver Wolf’s home world of Punklorde and Acheron’s home of Izumo. The story behind the “Swarm” has also teased multiple destroyed worlds, like the world of Glamoth referenced in Firefly’s lore and the “Iron Cavalry against the Scourge” relic set. With several worlds teased, the first hints about the next playable locale are now beginning to surface.

Honkai: Star Rail Leak Hints at Fourth World

A new update shared by prominent HoYoverse leaker Ubatcha is giving fans their first inklings about Honkai: Star Rail‘s next in-game world. According to the leak, one of the main gimmicks surrounding Honkai: Star Rail and its fourth world will involve “time bending,” potentially allowing players to speed up or reverse time. The mechanic is said to connect heavily to “Thermae,” ancient Greek and Roman hot spring baths. The leak suggests that the next Star Rail world may take inspiration for the world’s design from the Greek and Roman Empires.

With the leak giving the first idea about what Honkai: Star Rail‘s next world will contain, a past character may give some more clues about the world. Version 1.6 five-star character Dr. Ratio appears to be heavily inspired by Greek philosophers, with his first name of “Veritas” also being the name of the Roman goddess of truth. Dr. Ratio’s background is also shrouded in mystery, with Dr. Ratio’s official bio referring to his homeworld as “Cosmic.”

As Honkai: Star Rail fans wait for news about the game’s fourth world, the RPG is looking to wrap up the story for its most recent location. Honkai: Star Rail‘s Version 2.3, subtitled “Farewell, Penacony,” serves as the final act in the main story of the game’s third world, with popular Penacony character Firefly joining the playable roster. HoYoverse has also already teased a return to the Xianzhou Luofu for Honkai: Star Rail‘s next update, with five-star characters Jiaoqiu and Yunli set to be added. Fans will likely still be waiting a while to see what Star Rail‘s next world has to offer.

Utilizing a turn-based combat system, the game includes dungeons, multiple planets, and a gacha system for unlocking new characters. Debuting on April 26, 2023, on PC and mobile, Honkai: Star Rail has also been announced for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
