Parkersburg Homecoming announces 2024 musical acts

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Homecoming Festival has announced its entertainment lineup.

This year’s Homecoming entertainment will be presented in the Riverfront Park Amphitheatre in Point Park on Aug. 16-17.

The music will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday with local artist Talan Chambers followed by Jack & Davis Reid at 6:45 p.m. They are the grandsons of Don Reid of country legends The Statler Brothers.

The Friday night entertainment is being sponsored by Murray Sheet Metal and United Construction Co. Inc.

Friday’s headliner will be rising country star Kelsey Hart at 8:30 p.m. He is a TikTok discovery with a current hit song “Life With You” on the country charts and climbing.

Saturday’s entertainment is being sponsored by Grogg’s Home Services and kicks off the 22nd annual Johnny Staats Bluegrass Festival at 4 p.m. with The Good Ol’ Boys, Waverly Run Bluegrass Gospel Band and Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys.

Headlining at 8:30 p.m. Saturday will be the multi-award winning duo Dailey & Vincent bringing their brand of bluegrass, gospel and country.

Fireworks will close at 10 p.m. sponsored by the City of Parkersburg.

“In 1984, the Parkersburg Homecoming started a tradition and history of bringing some of the best national acts that have included The Charlie Daniels Band, George Jones, Brad Paisley, Toby Keith and the list goes on,” said Homecoming Vice President Chuck Lipps. “But with entertainment prices up and sponsorships down, we do our best to get the best acts we can within our budget.”

In addition to entertainment, tickets are now on sale for the annual Rubber Ducky Derby cash drawing at 8 p.m. Saturday which helps fund entertainment. Other Homecoming activities will include Kid’s Fest on Friday, the Grand Parade on Saturday plus food and fun on both days.
