Beat the heat with these affordable, indoor activities for kids in Lafayette

For any parents who are looking for something fun and affordable to do with the kids this summer, Lafayette offers a variety of activities to enjoy.

These indoor activities in Lafayette are great ways to keep the kids busy, and out of the sun.

The Grand Theatre is bringing free movies all summer. Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. enjoy a free movie and enhance the fun with a special $5 Summer Kids Movie Combo. Each combo includes a Kids Popcorn Box and a 12oz Drink Cup.

Fun Nation roller rink and family-fun center offers summer fun with $8 admission and $4 softplay Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On Tuesday and Thursday nights 5 p.m. to 8 p.m admission is $10 with $4 softplay. Friday Nights 7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m admission is $15 with $4 softplay.

Bring all little leapers to Sky zone for half priced jumping known as the official “toddler time” of Sky Zone Lafayette. Offered Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m, for $12 you can watch your child bounce and climb in a safe environment while interacting with similar age children.

Let the kids strike away their boredom with free bowling Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm at Surge.

Anyone 16 & older can join in on the fun too for just $5. Bowling shoe rental fee required to participate. Up to 1 hour of bowling time. Must repurchase bowling shoe rental for any extra hours of bowling. 

Cool off outdoors with local splash pad throughout Acadiana. Palmetto Island State Park splash pad is open from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. with a cost of $3 per person. Abbeville Splash pad is open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Moncus park splash pad is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Both are free of cost.
