ENTERTAINMENT: Arkansas State exhibitions explore whimsy, pay tribute to artists | Arkansas Democrat Gazette

ASU exhibitions

Two exhibitions — “Threads, Folds & Rabbit Holes: Kristy Deetz” and “Exploring the BAM Collection: A Tribute to Evan Lindquist and Cheryl Wall Trimarchi” — open with a reception at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Bradbury Art Museum in Arkansas State University’s Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro.

“Threads, Folds and Rabbit Holes” is a traveling exhibition featuring paintings from Deetz’s “Holidays Unfolding” and “Through the Veil” series. “Exploring the BAM Collection” gathers prints made by, given by and given in honor of late ASU faculty member Evan Lindquist, as well as prints that have entered the museum’s collection through the gifts of Cheryl Wall Trimarchi.

Both exhibitions will be up through Aug. 28. Admission to the reception and the exhibitions is free. Museum hours are noon-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Call (870) 972-3434 or visit BradburyArtMuseum.org.

The Foundation of Arts stages “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” (music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler), 6 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Forum Theater, 115 E.
