Occupational therapy drive for Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports happening during July

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) – A local business is in the middle of a three-month drive for Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports this summer.

Prairie Grit does more than adaptive sports. They also offer a variety of therapies for minors with disabilities.

During the first month in June, Aspire Credit Union collected a host of foods for the organization’s feeding therapy program.

This month, the drive will focus on items used for occupational therapy.

There’s a list on Aspire’s website that shows the kinds of items that fall in this category.

“One of the biggest things they said they needed was batteries. Batteries are expensive, and a lot of the different therapy pieces of equipment they have run on batteries. And so they’re constantly going through AA and AAA batteries,” said Rianne Kuhn, marketing and communications coordinator at Aspire.

In August, the drive will focus on collecting items for speech therapy.

You can still donate food items.

Both Aspire and Prairie Grit also take money donations for this.
