Free-to-play The First Descendant handing out compensation in apology for launch issues

You can start doing battle with The First Descendant achievements, as the free-to-play action-RPG is out now for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Its launch wasn’t entirely without problems, however, and Nexon has apologized for The First Descendant’s launch issues and is handing out compensation in the form of in-game rewards.

The First Descendant players can claim in-game rewards after launch issues

“We sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience caused by the issues that occurred during the opening day. As a token of our apology, we prepared a compensation. We will continue to strive to provide a more stable service,” Nexon says.

The issues so far seem to range from frustration with the game’s microtransactions to frame rate problems, and Nexon has been keeping track of known issues and will be updating the list.

In the meantime, in-game rewards are available and will arrive in your mailbox if you login before July 7, although these compensations will apparently “expire” on July 14 and need to be claimed before then. They include:

  • Gold Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
  • Kyper Shard Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
  • Descendant EXP Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
  • Weapon Mastery EXP Gain Boost +30% (Duration 3 days)
  • 2 x Matte Red Paints
