HOMETOWN ENTERTAINMENT: Key West Band returns to Dr Pepper Park
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) -The Key West Band has been around for decades, bringing island flavor and the sounds of the late great Jimmy Buffett, who passed away last September.
The group first came together 30 years ago. The band took a break for a few years, then reunited last October at Dr Pepper Park with a special tribute to Buffett.
Along with a Buffett-heavy playlist, the Key West Band performs Reggae, Creole, Latin and original songs.
Lead singer Michael Armstrong is taking the stage again July 6 at Dr Pepper Park, along with Doyle Grisham, a longtime member of Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band.
Special guests steel pan artist John Patti and singer/songwriter Hoppie Vaughan will be joining them.
The concert is Saturday, July 6 at Dr Pepper Park, rain or shine. Gates open at 6 pm. Click here for tickets.
