Looking for a free summer concert? Here’s where to find one throughout the Brockton area

BROCKTON − Outdoor summer concerts under the evening sky are underway. What better way to spend a warm summer evening than gathering with family and friends, listening to local brands play live music?

Summer concerts can be relaxing and fun with musicians performing just feet away from the audience.

Local bands will be performing music for all tastes and generations, including classic rock and roll, oldies, country, jazz, Motown, disco and more.

Acts will include a Beatles Tribute band, Jimmy Buffet/Beach Boys-style band and a Bad Company tribute band.

There’s also entertainment for the children with face painting and balloon twisting, a Kids’ Night at the Bandstand in Abington and Children’s Fun Nights in West Bridgewater.

Dale and the Duds will kick off the concert series in Abington and play its rock and roll music at the John J. DeMarco Park in Avon.

Billy Couto and the After Hours will kick off the Mayor’s Concert Summer Concert series at Heights Crossing in Brockton.

Grab a chair or blanket and enjoy fun-filled summer evenings of live music and food at these local summer concert series.

ABINGTON

Free concerts are held June 30 through Aug. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at the Catherine and Joseph Nisby Bandstand in Abington.

The Abington Lions Club will be operating the Snack Shack with popular items from the grill along with beverages. The traveling ice cream cart from CREAM will have dishes of ice cream for sale.

No dogs or smoking are allowed. In the event of rain, the concert will be held in the Abington Middle/High School at 201 Gliniewicz Way.

July 14: Redneck Castaway Band, a Tribute to Kenny Chesney (formerly the No Shoes Nation Band).

July 21: The Baha Brothers − a Jimmy Buffet/Beach Boys-style band with a mix of either artists music.

July 28: Studio Two-The Beatles Tribute, the Beatles before America.

Aug. 4: Kids Night at the Bandstand. Mime and Music of Scot Cannon 6-650 p.m.  Ventriloquist Kevin Driscoll and Friends 7:10-8 p.m. Joes’ Craz-zy Critters, Face Painting by South Shore Pottery, M&N’s Balloon Twisting and more

Aug. 11: 12 Barz Band, a seven-piece classic R&B vocal and horn band with some classic rock.

Aug. 18:  U.S. Air Force “Rhythmn in Blue” Jazz ensemble from U.S. Air Force Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va.

Aug. 25: Boston Premier, a nine-piece band with horns, top 40, rock, big band swing, R&B, oldies, jazz, Motown and disco.

AVON

The Avon Civic Association’s 2024 Concert Series is held Wednesdays at the John J. DeMarco Park on North Main Street, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Residents should bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the music.

BRIDGEWATER

Bridgewater ​Music Alley holds performances by talented local artists every Thursday evening through the summer. Shows are held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Black Hat Brew Works, 25 Scotland St., with local food vendors and live music.

There will be food trucks on site, and you can still bring your own dinner or non-alcoholic drinks. Beer and other non-alcoholic drinks will be for sale within the brewery. For more information, visit www.bridgewatermusicalley.com

EASTON

Bring your chairs or blanket and enjoy summer evenings of local, live music at the 2024 Easton Shovel Town Cultural District Summer Concerts, Wednesday evenings, July 10 through Aug. 21, at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall, 3 Barrows St. These free concerts begin at 7 p.m. and last two hours. In the event of rain, concerts will be held inside.

Food and drink will be available for purchase. Shovel Town Brewery will offer their craft beer for purchase. And That’s So Cool Shave Ice will offer cool, delicious treats.

RAYNHAM

A series of summer concerts at the First Congregational Church of Raynham, the Stone Church, will be held on Wednesday evenings, July 10 through Aug. 7, at 7 p.m., in the air-conditioned church at 785 South Main St. The concerts are free to the public, and a free will offering will be received.

July 17: Brian Bigelow Trio playing jazz, rock and country music and selections from the Great American Standards.

July 24: New Providence Big Band playing a blend of jazz and swing.

STOUGHTON

The Stoughton Lions Club is hosting a free summer concert series at Halloran Park on Pierce Street on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Aug. 1: The Corvairs.

Aug. 8: The Standards.

Aug. 22: D Train Jazz Band.

Aug. 29: Jesse Liam Band.

Donations to the Lions Club are welcome. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Stoughton Cultural Council, a  local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

TAUNTON

Downtown Taunton Summer Concert Series will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Liberty & Union Park, 78 Main St. Seating is limited. Bring chairs.

Aug. 2: The Reminisants. The Reminisants have been entertaining audiences of all ages throughout New England since 1973. The band specializes in oldies music from the 1950s through the ’90s, playing a collection of music for all kinds of musical tastes and generations.

Aug. 16: The Undaunted Professor Harp. Professor Harp, Hugh Holmes, of Boston, will play the blues of Texas and the Delta. This five-piece Blues ensemble will be rocking Liberty & Union Park.

WEST BRIDGEWATER

The Town of West Bridgewater is once again presenting its free summer concert series and Children’s Fun Nights on Tuesdays through Aug. 13. For a schedule of events, visit www.facebook.com/wbculture/

The concert series will be held at 6 p.m. at the Town Hall Gazebo, 65 North Main St. Children’s Fun Nights will be held at 6 p.m. at Friendship Park Playground.  There will be at least one food vendor each evening.

West Bridgewater summer concert schedule:

July 16: Jake Ash Band will perform today’s popular country music hits as well as some of their original songs at Town Hall Gazebo.

July 23: Children’s Fun Night at Friendship Park.

July 30: Birch Swart Band at town Hall Gazebo.

Aug. 6: Davis Bates at Friendship Hall.

WHITMAN

2024 Summer Concert Series hosted by the Whitman Cultural Council will be held Thursday nights at 6 p.m. in town park. Bring a chair to enjoy the live music. Food trucks will be available.

July 11:  Knock on Wood, a folk rock duo.

July 18: GinaMark will perform pop, rock and country.

Aug. 1: Kids Night with Henry the Juggler.

Aug. 8: Uncommon Soul will perform pop and rock hits.

Aug. 15: Bak-ta-Bak-Country will perform oldies and rock.
