Colorado DMV offices back open for business, statewide outages resolved

Colorado’s DMV offices are back open for business Wednesday after technical issues and statewide outages Tuesday shut down nearly all DMV services.

The issue affected all of Colorado’s driver’s license offices Tuesday, preventing DMV officials from issuing anything but written tests and forcing Coloradoans to reschedule other appointments.

Wednesday morning, DMV officials announced the statewide outages were resolved, and that all DMV services — including driver’s license and ID card services at state and county offices and online services at myDMV.Colorado.gov — were fully operational.

If customers who took the written test during Tuesday’s outages return to the DMV within 180 days, they can complete the driver’s license issuance process without retaking the test, DMV officials stated in a news release.

Other customers affected by the service disruption can now reschedule their appointments, DMV officials said Wednesday.

The cause of the service interruption is still under review.
