Marshall Carby appointed as executive director of  Baton Rouge Symphony

The Baton Rouge Symphony Board of Directors has appointment Marshall Carby as executive director of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, effective Sept. 1.

Carby brings a wealth of experience in arts management and a deep commitment to the cultural vitality of Baton Rouge.

With more than 15 years of leadership in the arts sector, Carby has demonstrated a passion for fostering community engagement through music and cultural initiatives. His strategic vision and proven track record in organizational development make him an ideal candidate to lead the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra into its next chapter.

Prior to joining the Baton Rouge Symphony, Carby served as assistant director of Operations and Production at the Omaha Symphony. His leadership style, characterized by innovation and collaboration, promises to build upon the Baton Rouge Symphony’s esteemed legacy while expanding its impact throughout the region.

Established in 1947, the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra has grown to become one of the premier orchestras in the region, offering a diverse range of performances that include classical masterpieces, contemporary works and popular music concerts.
