Chicago Dogs welcome Parrot Heads

The Chicago Dogs baseball team invites fans to dress up in their favorite Parrot Head regalia in honor of the late Jimmy Buffett for the game against the Lake Country Dockhounds at Impact Field, 9850 Balmoral Ave., Rosemont. ‘Voyage en France’

Cantigny, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton, continues its season-long France at Cantigny theme commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day with “Voyage en France,” a celebration of French culture produced in cooperation with Alliance Français DuPage, the French Chamber of Commerce and the French consulate. Activities include en plein air artists in the gardens, performances by members of the Salt Creek Ballet, live music and street entertainer, French-themed garden displays, an open-air French market and an Eiffel Tower replica. Tickets are $15 for ages 15 and older. The daylong, family-friendly celebration will be followed by an after-hours event for ages 21 and older titled “Rendezvous en France.” A re-creation of Paris’ Moulin Rouge, the “Rendezvous” features cabaret singers, aerial artists, food and drinks. Opera double-bill

Bellissima Opera presents a double-bill that includes “Outside the Ring,” an examination of the rivalry and eventual friendship between Black boxer Joe Louis and German boxer Max Schmeling by librettist Christine Steyer and composer David Shenton. The second opera is “Speed Dating Tonight!” by Michael Ching, about 10 hopefuls participating in a speed-dating event. Chicago jewels on display

The Driehaus Museum’s latest exhibit, “Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective,” consists of more than 200 pieces of rare and historically significant jewelry and decorative art objects from the late Renaissance to the present from prominent Chicago collections. It includes never-before-seen pieces from the Dreihaus collection, along with objects from the Chicago History Museum, the Field Museum and the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art.
