Players react to EA Sports College Football ‘25

DALLAS, Texas (WAFF) – For the first time in over a decade, EA Sports is bringing College Football back to gaming consoles everywhere. On Monday, early access to the game was available for a select few.

The addition of NIL deals allowed for the game to feature the real players who take the field on Saturday’s. Many of the players at SEC Media Days in Dallas recalled playing the game growing up and are eager to see how they will be portrayed in the virtual world.

“I remember as kids, playing that game it’s extremely fun and now being in it, it’s a dream,” said LSU tight end Mason Taylor, “I’m pretty sure the early access came out today, so I’m looking forward to getting back to Baton Rouge and playing tonight.”

Others had mixed feelings.

“I think my biggest concern is how they made my face on the game. I don’t know what picture they used but I don’t think it looks anything like me at all. I do not have a mullet and I can’t really grow facial hair that much,” Ole Miss starter Jaxon Dart said.

Some looked at the game as a motivator for the season ahead. Wondering how the creators would rate their skill.

“I feel like I’m going to have to do some proving wrong during the season. I feel like history of sports games and ratings have never been the best,” said South Carolina defensive lineman Debo Williams, “I’ve mentally prepared for not the rating I want, but it’s okay the season is coming soon so I’ll have my chance.”

College Football 25 will release for everyone on Friday, July 19.
