Syringa Cyclery honored as chamber’s top business
SANDPOINT — From casual cyclists to competitive racers, Syringa Cyclery aims to help all levels of bike riders.
The Sandpoint business was named the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Month for July.
Since 1988, the Rails to Resort Hill Climb has given all levels of bicyclists the chance to personally challenge themselves over the course — all 9 miles and 2,400 feet — which starts at the railroad tracks at the bottom of Schweitzer Mountain Road to the Schweitzer village.
Syringa Cyclery launched the Idaho Panhandle Gravel Series in 2023 which was the brainchild of its owner, Charles Mortensen. The series is comprised of three races: the 3/4 Minus Cykeltur, the CHAFE 150, and the Monarch Grind. The proceeds of the 3/4 Minus race benefit the Pend Oreille Pedalers. CHAFE 150 benefits the Panhandle Alliance for Education. The Monarch Grind proceeds benefit KRFY Public Radio and the Pend Oreille Pedalers.
“Syringa Cyclery is a great example of a local business that is passionate about being fully engaged in the community in which it conducts its business,” Mickey Quinn, Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce executive director, said.
