Owensboro Sports Center hosts 3-D forensic training event event for law enforcement

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Owensboro Sports Center is hosting a 3-D forensic training event for law enforcement from various agencies from around the country.

Attendees will learn new concepts and solutions on how to document a crime scene.

Organizers have staged various scenes for the attendees to 3-D scan with equipment provided at the training.

“Law enforcement technology is just like any other technology, it’s always changing and advancing,” said forensic expert, Adam Johnston. “So, we have to do the best that we can to document what we see and hear on a crime, because it may not go to court for years. So, we have to find a way to document those things to scale so that can be shown to a jury.”

The training wraps up Thursday, so if you see a mock crime scene at the sports center don’t be alarmed.
