ACMA: More illegal gambling websites blocked

The latest sites blocked include Richard Casino and Wanted Win, for breaching the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

Australian internet service providers (ISPs) have been requested by ACMA to block more illegal gambling websites that have breached the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

Among the latest websites blocked include Richard Casino and Wanted Win; both have been found to have either provided prohibited interactive gambling services and/or unlicensed regulated interactive gambling service to customers in Australia. ACMA’s most recent ban was on Kayo, a sports streaming service owned by Hubbl, for showing gambling advertisements during live sports events outside the allowed time period. A total of 16 different gambling advertisements were found across 267 live sports events between 5am and 8:30pm, in which gambling advertisements were not allowed during said time period.

Since its founding till now, ACMA has blocked up to 1,011 illegal gambling and affiliate websites. The sites blocked include Jogi Casino, Dundee Slots, Lucky Hunter, Lucky Wins, Lukki Casino, Spin Fever, Clubhouse Casino and Winport Casino. A Big Candy, Jackpoty and John Vegas Casino were included as well.

The organisation has cracked down on illegal betting during the Women’s FIFA World Cup in 2023, and issued several warnings as well to operators found to have breached any part of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

This included Mad Entertainment (Golden Lion), Paloma Media (Thunderpick) and Dama and Friolion (Betibet).
