Youth Pool Tournament bring hundreds of kids from around the world to Sioux City

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Sioux City is hosting hundreds of kids from around the world in a junior national pool tournament.

80 pool tables are set up at the Sioux City Convention Center. Kids from ages 7 to 20 are taking part in the Valley National 8-ball League Association (VNEA) tournament.

South Sioux City has hosted the tournament a number of times during its 34 years. But now kids and their families from all over have come to Sioux City to take part in this year’s tournament.

“We have 329 junior players that are here. They’re from actually all over the world. We’ve got about 80 people from Canada, 20 people as far as New Zealand, all coming to Sioux City. There are 13 states involved in this,” said Ed Borgia, Tournament Director.

Winners will be crowned in various age groups.

The tournament runs through early Sunday afternoon at the convention center. The public is invited to attend and it’s free.
