Full-body workout in 7 minutes? Try it at the Lehigh Valley’s 1st official Fitness Court.

People interested in a circuit-training workout that can be done in seven minutes have a new place to try it in Upper Nazareth Township.

The Fitness Court, from the National Fitness Campaign, is an outdoor gym with multiple stations designed to provide exercise opportunities for people of all fitness levels.

The court was recently installed at Leibert Park behind the Upper Nazareth Township Municipal Building at 100 Newport Ave. An official launch event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

The National Fitness Campaign is a public-private partnership that has installed hundreds of Fitness Courts throughout the country, but the Upper Nazareth Township one is the first in the Lehigh Valley.

The features of the court focus on seven zones that include core, squat, push, lunge, pull, agility and bend. The court has various step blocks, and object to push or pull.

The court is designed to provide a full-body workout in seven minutes if you download the official Fitness Court app and follow the routines created specifically for the court.

There are progressive and variable programs designed for beginners in the exercise world, on up to elites.

People also can utilize the court, which is free to the public, with their own workout routines.

Half of the court is a flat open area for those who wish to organize Zumba, yoga, pilates, dance or any other outdoor classes.

NFC awarded the township a $30,000 grant to help pay for the $257,500 project. Sponsorships also came from JVI LLC and St. Luke’s University Health Network, in addition to a donation from Martin Guitar. Other money came from the township’s recreation fund.

The township also installed a walking path around Leibert Park earlier this year.
