Cortland County Up 200 Jobs When Compared to Last Year – X101 Always Classic

The New York State Department of Labor says the state has gained 6,900 private sector jobs for the month of June to a total of 8,379,000 private sector jobs within the state. Year over year, the state has added just over 108,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate within the state remained the same at 4.2% for June.

In Cortland County, the county is up 200 jobs for year over year standing at 18,500 jobs in the month of June. Last year, the county had around 18,300 jobs.

The fields with the largest increases were the private education & health services, government, and leisure & hospitality. Trade, Transportation & Utilities saw the largest decrease, with almost 20,000 jobs lost year-over-year.
