EssilorLuxottica to Acquire Supreme from VF Corporation
VF Corporation is getting ready to sell Supreme and it’s offloading the streetwear imprint to global eyewear leader, EssilorLuxottica.
As of now, the companies have entered an agreement, which sees EssilorLuxottica’s acquisition of Supreme for $1.5 billion USD in cash. VF Corporation previously bought the brand in 2020 for $2.1 billion USD.
Supreme’s founder James Jebbie is set to remain involved in the development of Supreme. “In EssilorLuxottica, we have a unique partner that understands that we are at our best when we stay true to the brand and continue to operate and grow as we have for the past 30 years,” said Jebbia. “This move lets us focus on the brand, our products, and our customers, while setting us up for long-term success.”
The deal is expected to close by the end of this year.
Dior Announces Lewis Hamilton as Brand Ambassador and Guest Designer of New Lifestyle Capsule
Dior is bringing Lewis Hamilton into its network as the famed Formula One driver is now a new brand ambassador. But that’s not all. Hamilton is also the guest designer of a new lifestyle capsule.
A friend of Dior’s menswear creative director Kim Jones, Hamilton worked with the leader and the historic house of the capsule, whose lookbook was revealed this week. With the offering, Hamilton taps into his bold style and the refined notes of the esteemed house – featuring streetwear and outdoor culture.
Geared toward the winter season, Lewis Hamilton’s guest-designed Dior lifestyle capsule releases in-store and online on October 17.
Meta Reportedly Seeking Stake in Eyewear Conglomerate EssilorLuxottica
EssilorLuxottica is in the headlines this week again as Meta is reportedly seeking a stake in the conglomerate.
Currently, the tech company is preparing to purchase a 5% stake in EssilorLuxottica, meaning it would also become a partial owner of Supreme. Although the companies are in conversation, it’s still to be determined if the deal will be successful or not.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Meta wants to build on the success of its collaborative Ray-Ban smart glasses by obtaining a minority stake in the eyewear conglomerate.
Coperni To Hold Its SS25 Show at Disneyland Paris
Although Paris Fashion Week for menswear has just wrapped up, brands are getting ready for the women’s week for the Spring/Summer 2025 season, which is set to begin on September 23. But Coperni is taking the venue game up a notch by hosting its show at Disneyland Paris a.k.a “The Happiest Place on Earth,” which is also Europe’s largest theme park.
By taking to the world-renowned theme park, Coperni plans to showcase the current of modern feminity. What better place to exhibit the fanfare, glamour and softness of princesses and powerful women than at Disneyland? With the SS25 show, the brand also pays tribute to childhood and the magic of Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Stay tuned for updates on Coperni’s PFW SS25 show at Disneyland Paris on October 1.
